Bride's progress

Well the Civil War Bride Quilt is back on the radar after I finally found her after a massive search last week. This is to show that I have acually started work and though she is footless, hairless and generally half baked she is on her way - ya hoo!

Pom Pom de Paris fabric

I promised myself no more fabric - but I couldn't resist 30cm each of these 4 fabrics from the French General's new range Pom Pom de Paris. These fabrics feel wonderful and are such pretty colours and designs. I love the birds on the fabric, they remind me of the old fashioned blue bird of happiness broach my mum and dad gave me when I was about 12 years old. Aren't they lovely?

Civil War Bride - located!

Yes, it took me a while but I found her. When I did find her, my Civil War Bride was neatly packed away in a drawer safe and sound. This is a photo of 2 of the blocks I have completed - though there are still quite a few to do.................I have to say though, the photo doesn't really show the true colours of the blocks the background is darker and the appliques shapes are brighter in real life.

I had forgotten how much I had enjoyed doing the blocks I had already started. I am looking forward to finishing her now.

A lovely walk by the bay

It was a lovely morning for a walk. You can see from the photo the sea was calm and the weather, though overcast was very pleasant. A nice coffee in St Kilda and back to tackle the housework - ick!

What to do next? I really need to finish something!!

Like most quilters I have many quilts on the go at once. This is for several reasons: I get bored with the one project no matter how much I like it; I can always find something new that excites me and I can not wait to get my hands on the next project also I am inspired by so many quilters that I want to do what everyone else is doing too! However, I am committed to finishing some of my many UFO's. All I have to do is to find the project I am after in the mess that is my sewing room - I thought I knew where it was but no..................my goal for today is to locate my 'Civil War Bride' blocks and work on them next. I have a booking for quilting in 2 months, so that gives my some structure and a deadline to work to.

Back from the Quilters

This is the second of my hexagon from diamonds quilts. Desley Maisano of Addicted to Quilts always does a fabulous job with my quilts and I am never disappointed. It is always exciting to collect my quilts from Desley as the quilting always enhnces the quilt.

Wildlife!

We have some little residents in our roof at Yandoit - isn't he cute. He is a Brushed Tailed Phascogale, actually I am not sure if he is a boy or a girl but he lives with one other in our roof! They are small and quick. In November last year there were 10 babies there but now there are only 2 left. Still 2 is probably enough!
